Keep calm and no bullying!: discutindo o bullying a partir de diferentes gêneros textuais - uma proposta didática de língua inglesa

Apresenta uma proposta de unidade didática desenvolvida para o ensino de Língua Estrangeira (Inglês) no Ensino Médio, especificamente no contexto do Colégio Pedro II, datada de 2013. O trabalho articula o ensino da língua com a discussão de temas sociais urgentes, centrando-se no fenômeno do bullying e da violência nas escolas. A estruturação pedagógica é organizada por eixos temáticos e gêneros textuais ao longo dos bimestres letivos. Para a 1ª série do Ensino Médio, o foco recai sobre a "Carta do Leitor" e a "Publicidade". Já na 2ª série, a progressão curricular abrange gêneros mais complexos, como "Sinopse de livro e filme", "Resumo e Resenha", "Artigo de Opinião" e a análise de "Curta-metragem". O objetivo central é desenvolver habilidades e competências que permitam ao aluno reconhecer objetivos comunicativos, distinguir fatos de opiniões e compreender temas implícitos em textos diversos. Como recurso pedagógico principal, o projeto utiliza o filme e a peça teatral Bang Bang, You're Dead, que servem de base para analisar as raízes da violência escolar e o impacto do isolamento social e do assédio entre pares. A unidade didática também estabelece pontes com a realidade brasileira, citando especificamente o caso da Escola Municipal Tasso da Silveira, em Realengo, para contextualizar a gravidade das consequências do bullying extremo. A metodologia proposta envolve o uso de materiais autênticos, como críticas de cinema de sites como IMDb e Rotten Tomatoes, cartazes de campanhas anti-bullying e vídeos de depoimentos no YouTube. Além disso, o material inclui ferramentas de análise comportamental que auxiliam os alunos a classificar níveis de agressão (verbal e não verbal) e ameaças. Presents a didactic unit developed for the teaching of Foreign Language (English) in Secondary Education, specifically within the context of Colégio Pedro II, dated 2013. The work combines language teaching with the discussion of pressing social issues, focusing on the phenomenon of bullying and school violence. The pedagogical structure is organized around thematic axes and textual genres throughout the academic terms. For the first year of Secondary Education, the focus is on the “Letter to the Editor” and “Advertising” genres. In the second year, the curriculum progresses to more complex genres, such as “Book and Film Synopsis,” “Summary and Review,” “Opinion Article,” and the analysis of “Short Films.” The main objective is to develop skills and competencies that enable students to recognize communicative purposes, distinguish facts from opinions, and understand implicit themes in a variety of texts. As its primary pedagogical resource, the project uses the film and stage play Bang Bang, You’re Dead, which serve as a basis for examining the roots of school violence and the impact of social isolation and peer harassment. The didactic unit also establishes connections with the Brazilian context by specifically citing the case of Escola Municipal Tasso da Silveira, in Realengo, to contextualize the severity of the consequences of extreme bullying. The proposed methodology involves the use of authentic materials, including film reviews from websites such as IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, anti-bullying campaign posters, and testimonial videos available on YouTube. In addition, the material includes behavioral analysis tools that help students classify levels of aggression (verbal and nonverbal) and threats.
