Trigonometria no ensino fundamental: introduzindo a circunferência trigonométrica no nono ano

Abstract

O ensino da Trigonometria, em geral, inicia-se no nono ano do Ensino Fundamental onde se abordam as razões trigonométricas no triângulo retângulo, sendo os demais conceitos e resultados trigonométricos abordados no Ensino Médio. Pretende-se com este trabalho mostrar que é viável antecipar para o nono ano o ensino da circunferência trigonométrica e estender os conceitos de seno, cosseno e tangente para ângulos não agudos. Assim, após adquirir esse conhecimento, será possível resolver problemas envolvendo triângulos quaisquer, entre outras aplicações. Desta forma, propõe-se construir a circunferência trigonométrica utilizando-se régua e compasso e, a partir daí, definir os conceitos de seno, cosseno e tangente. Para tal, requer-se o conhecimento e a compreensão de algumas construções geométricas necessárias para a confecção do plano cartesiano e do círculo unitário centrado na origem. Além disto, a teoria das razões trigonométricas no triângulo retângulo também será necessária na construção do conhecimento almejado. O uso de simetrias para relacionar medidas de arcos trigonométricos com extremidades simétricas em relação a um dos eixos coordenados ou à origem do sistema cartesiano e o cálculo do seno, do cosseno e da tangente determinados por estes arcos conclui este estudo. Para encerrar, apresentar-se-á uma atividade realizada com alunos do nono ano de uma escola pública, localizada no município do Rio de Janeiro, e suas devidas conclusões.

The teaching of Trigonometry, in general, begins in the ninth year of elementary school where the trigonometric ratios are approached in the triangle rectangle, and the other concepts and trigonometric results are approached in High School. This work intends to show that is practicable to anticipate for the ninth year the teaching of the trigonometric circumference and to extend the concepts of sine, cosine and tangent to non-acute angles. Thus, after acquiring this knowledge, it will be possible to solve problems involving any triangles, among other applications. In this way, it is proposed to construct the trigonometric circumference using ruler and compass and, from there, to define the concepts of sine, cosine and tangent. For this, the knowledge and the understanding of some geometric constructions necessary for the making of the cartesian plane and the unitary circle centered in the origin is required. In addition, the theory of trigonometric ratios in the triangle rectangle will also be necessary in the construction of the desired knowledge. The use of symmetries to relate measurements of trigonometric arcs with symmetrical ends in relation to one of the coordinate axes or to the origin of the Cartesian system and the calculation of the sine, cosine and tangent determined by these arcs finishes this study. To conclude, an activity will be presented with students from the ninth year of a public school, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and its due conclusions.
